Actor-turned-politician
Chiranjeevi
is
now
all
set
to
make
his
comeback
to
the
big
screen.
The
latest
buzz
is
that
the
Tollywood
megastar
has
asked
Congress
supremo
Sonia
Gandhi's
permission
to
return
to
acting.
It
should
be
seen
whether
National
Congress
party
leader
would
allow
him
to
go
for
it
or
not.
Back
in
2009,
Chiranjeevi
had
announced
that
besides
his
participation
in
politics,
he
would
also
act
in
movies.
He
had
even
registered
a
title
named
Adhinayakudu
at
the
Andhra
Pradesh
Film
Chamber
of
Commerce
and
told
that
it
would
be
his
150th
movie.
It
was
also
reported
that
Chiru
wanted
to
finish
the
shooing
of
the
film
before
the
next
general
elections.
Later,
a
host
of
names
of
director
were
rumoured
to
direct
Chiranjeevi
in
his
upcoming
film.
Noted
names
like
AR
Murugadoss,
SS
Rajamouli,
VV
Vinayak,
Puri
Jagannath
and
few
others
were
among
the
rumoured
names
list.
But,
a
source
slammed
all
those
names
and
cited
maverick
filmmaker
Shankar's
name
for
the
direction
of
his
film.
It
was
said
that
Chiranjeevi's
landmark
film
Adhinayakudu
was
to
be
directed
by
one
of
the
popular
Telugu
film
directors.
Since
he
did
not
get
a
good
script,
he
had
chosen
Tamil
director
Shankar,
who
had
a
wonderful
story
which
suited
the
image
of
this
Telugu
actor.
It
was
even
reported
that
the
megastar
would
play
a
freedom
fighter
in
the
movie.
However,
all
these
rumours
were
silenced
by
the
end
of
2011.
It
was
reported
that
although
he
had
wished
to
don
the
greasepaint
again,
his
political
commitments
did
not
allow
him
to
make
a
comeback
to
the
big
screen.
Due
to
his
political
career,
his
much-hyped
project
was
put
on
hold.
Later,
he
even
gave
away
the
title
to
his
arch
rival
Balakrishna.
Now,
it
remains
to
be
seen
whether
his
dream
of
acting
will
be
fulfilled.
