Ganesh
Venkatraman,
who
is
playing
an
antagonist
in
Nagarjuna's
much-awaited
movie
Damarukam,
is
all
excited
about
the
film.
Besides
Nag,
what
thrills
the
actor
in
the
film
are
the
mythology
story
with
a
contemporary
feel,
its
special
effects.
He
could
not
stop
praising
Nagarjuna,
director
Srinivasa
Reddy
and
cameraman
Chota
K
Naidu.
In
an
interview
to
a
leading
website,
Ganesh
Venkatraman
gushed
about
his
experience
on
the
sets
of
Damarukam.
Talking
about
why
he
accepted
the
offer,
the
young
actor
says
that
it
is
a
socio-fantasy
film,
which
has
a
mythology
story
with
a
contemporary
feel.
It
is
a
big
budget
movie
made
with
Rs
45
crores.
Moreover,
he
has
an
important
character
opposite
superstar
Nagarjuna.
Damarukam,
which
is
loosely
based
on
Amish's
book
'The
Immortals
of
Meluhha',
is
a
contemporary
take
on
Shiva
mythology
and
it
has
70
minutes
of
computer
graphics.
Ganesh
says
that
he
had
tough
time,
while
shooting
for
the
film.
He
adds
that
he
had
to
shoot
with
the
background
of
a
green
screen
for
the
special
effects.
When
acting
he
had
to
visualise
certain
things
that
would
be
present
in
a
make-believe
world.
"Such
a
film
requires
a
great
cinematographer
and
director.
I
must
thank
the
technicians
who
worked
in
the
film,
Rediff
quotes
Ganesh
as
saying." He
adds,
"Hats
off
to
Srinivas
Reddy
who
did
a
lot
of
research.
I'm
a
director's
actor.
Chota
K
Naidu
is
a
brilliant
cinematographer.
For
each
frame
he
had
to
consult
the
computer
graphics
guys
as
they
had
to
do
the
special
effects
later.
Damarukam
will
have
better
computer
graphics
than
Eega!"
