Eega set to beat Gabbar Singh, Dookudu record at USA Box Office

Mahesh Babu's last release Dookudu has been the highest grosser Telugu movie at the USA Box Office so far. Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh, which was released on May 11, has landed in the second spot in the chart. Director Rajamouli's Eega has now occupied the third spot. Trade analysts feel that it will soon topple the records of other two films and top the collection chart in the country.

Sudeep-Samantha starrer Eega hit the screens in America a day before its release in India. The graphical wonder received an overwhelming response on the first day of its release. It has raked in Rs 3.64 crores from its different versions like Telugu and Tamil from 39 screens in the four day extended week in the country. With this, it is said to have broken the first weekend record of Dookudu and Gabbar Singh.

Eega was released on limited number of screens due to unavailability of cinema halls in the country. And the movie had only one show a day on several screens in the first week. So its producers have increased 20 more screens and also got increased number of shows on many screens in the second screens. So the movie has added another Rs 1.35 crore to its total collection Rs 4.99 crore nett at the USA Box Office.

Dookudu has become the first Telugu film to collect more than a million dollars at the USA Box Office. Second highest grosser movie Gabbar Singh is said to have collected more than $9,60,000. However, Eega has already raked in $9,00,000 in USA. It should be seen whether it will surpass the collection of Dookudu and Gabbar Singh.
