Director
SS
Rajamouli's
recent
release
Eega,
which
received
an
earth-shattering
response,
has
broken
several
records
at
the
Box
Office
and
set
new
bench
mark
for
upcoming
releases.
The
latest
we
hear
is
that
the
action
graphical
extravaganza
has
beaten
the
collection
record
of
Mahesh
Babu's
Businessman.
Before
the
release
of
Eega,
Ram
Gopal
Varma
had
predicted
that
it
would
be
the
first
Telugu
film
to
join
the
club
of
100
crore
movies.
The
movie
has
completed
nearly
five
weeks
at
the
Box
Office,
but
it
is
nowhere
near
to
the
mark.
Its
collection
figures
show
that
it
has
still
long
way
to
go.
Despite
getting
huge
opening
across
the
globe,
what
went
wrong
with
the
film?
Despite
facing
tough
competition
from
biggies
like
Bol
Bachchan,
Cocktail,
Billa
2
and
Uu
Kodathara
Ulikki
Padathara,
Eega
did
wonderful
business
at
the
Box
Office
for
three
weeks.
But
its
business
started
dipping
after
the
third
week.
Although
it
is
running
to
packed
houses
in
a
few
theatres,
overall,
it
is
registering
average
occupancy.
It
is
likely
to
go
down
further
due
to
the
release
of
Allu
Arjun's
Julayi.
However,
Mahesh
Babu
starrer
Businessman
had
collected
Rs
44
crores
at
the
Box
Office.
Eega
has
beaten
this
collection
record
within
a
couple
of
weeks.
If
we
are
to
go
by
the
industry
sources,
Rajamouli
directed
movie
has
collected
Rs
57
crores
at
the
Box
Office
so
far.
Now,
it
is
heading
towards
the
record
of
Dookudu
and
Magadheera,
which
are
all
time
highest
grosser
Telugu
films.
