Actress Genelia D'Souza's hard-earned good image seems to be getting tarnished after she was dragged into a land scam. A local court in Hyderabad on Friday has ordered the Saifabad police to register an FIR against the actresses and five others in connection with a Rs 250 crore scam.

The court directed the police after Ch. Tirupathaiah alleged that Genelia, who is one of the directors and brand ambassador of Anjani Puthra Infrastructure Private Ltd, along with five others cheated him by faking false promises of constructing two duplex houses at Kalvakol village of Maheswaram mandal for which he paid Rs 54 lakhs. He claims that the company has sold a total of 500 plots.

In the complaint, he said that when he realised that he was cheated and went to the State Consumer Forum and managed to bet the verdict in favour of him, the company threatened to kill him, which made him to filing a complaint.

On hearing this, the first Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Friday ordered to file cases against all the accuses including Genelia under Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 120-B (conspiracy) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). It has asked to submit a report by March 27.
