Nagarjuna's Damarukam releasing on Naga Chaitanya's birthday

Akkineni Nagarjuna's much-anticipated movie Damarukam, which has been postponed thrice, is now set to release this Friday. Its new ad posters published on various newspapers show that socio-fantasy entertainer will hit the screens on November 23. Interestingly, its release date coincides with King's son Naga Chaitanya's 25th birthday. It will be his best birthday gift for his son.

Damarukam is a big budget movie, which has been made with a whopping amount of Rs 42 crores. The film starring Nagarjuna and Anushka Shetty in leads, was slated to release on October 20. But its release was postponed thrice due to financial crisis. With this, it failed to cash in on this Diwali season.

Reports suggest that the movie has about 70 minutes of graphics work and makers have spent a lot of money on it. During its production, they had borrowed huge amount of money from a big film financier. They could not recover its cost from sale of its rights. The financier reportedly stalled its release, when they failed to return his dues. Finally, Nagarjuna had to intervene to settle the issue.

However, it is reported that the makers of the movie Damarukam owed Rs 10 crores to the film financier and they were struggling to return this amount. Nagarjuna is said to have returned his remuneration (Rs 5 crores) for the film and cleared the way for its grand worldwide release this weekend.
