Rajamouli's Eega shortlisted for India’s Oscar nomination

Ace director SS Rajamouli's latest movie Eega has created wonders at the Box Office in India and the USA. It has shattered all previous records and set its own new bench mark at Tollywood collection centres. Now, it is set to create another big record. Yes! It has been shortlisted for the Film Federation of India's Oscar nomination.

The Film Federation of India has recently shortlisted films for Oscar Nomination for the category of Best Foreign Language Film. This shortlist includes the names of 12 critically acclaimed Indian movies, and Sudeep and Samantha starrer Telugu film Eega is one of them. It is the top contender in the list.

The Film Federation of India will select and send one movie as Indian nomination for the category. The finalisation process for the Oscar entry will start from September 18th in Hyderabad and will last until the 26th of this month. Eega has tough competition from Bollywood films like Barfi and Gangs of Wasseypur.

Besides Eega, Barfi and Gangs of Wasseypur, other movies like VazhaKu En 18/9 (Tamil), 7aam Arivu (Tamil), Deool (Marathi), Aakashinte Niram (Malayalam), Kaahani (Hindi), Heroine (Hindi), Ferrari Ki Sawaari (Hindi), The Dirty Picture (Hindi) and Paan Singh Tomar (Hindi) are also in the shortlist for the Oscar nomination. Let us hope Eega will get selected as the final choice for Oscar nomination.
