Ram Charan Teja starring in Chiranjeevi's Khaidi remake
If we are to go by the buzz in the T-Town, producer Thandra Ramesh of Real Media has bought the remake rights of the hit movie Khaidi and is currently under the process of finalising its cast and crew and other details. Reports suggest that the producer has roped in Gabbar Singh fame director Harish Shankar to helm for the film. He is said to sign on Megastar Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja for the lead role.
The film Khaidi, which released on 28 October 1983, is revenge drama. Chiranjeevi and Madhavi played the lead roles in this original movie, while Rao Gopal Rao, Sumalatha, Nutan Prasad, Rallapalli, Ranganath and PL Narayana appeared in other supporting roles. The movie had opened to an earth-shattering response and collected approximately Rs 4 crores nett at the Box Office in its lifetime run.
However, the movie revolves around the story of a poor farmer's son Sooryam (Chiranjeevi), who is a hard working student. Sooryam falls in love with Madhulatha (Madhavi), the daughter of feudal lord Veerabhadraiah, who kills Sooryam's father and sister and implicates him in the death of his sister. Sooryam is arrested by the Police. How he escapes from jail and avenges the decimation of his family will form the rest of the story.
