Shankar to direct Chiranjeevi's landmark film

By Ramchander

After AR Murugadoss, SS Rajamouli, VV Vinayak, now maverick filmmaker Shankar's name is doing rounds for directing Chiranjeevi's 150th film. If reports are to be believed, the Aparichitudu director has planned a period film for the Stalin star, who has not acted in films ever since he entered politics.

It is well-known that the Mega family often trusted Tamil directors for their home production movies. Chiranjeevi's plans of returning to movies have been on the back burner after he merged his political party with Indian National Congress. Adding to that, he did not come across a good script. Now, Shankar's script seems to have impressed him and it may kick-start at the earliest. The megastar is playing the role of a freedom fighter in the movie.

It is reported that Chiranjeevi wants to act in a film before the next general elections. Hence, it may take off soon.
