Magadheera shouldn't be remade: Ram Charan Teja

By Ians English

Director SS Rajamouli's Magadheera is one of the big Blockbusters in South India and a landmark film in the Telugu film industry. Its lead actor Ram Charan Teja, who is seen reprising the iconic role of Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan in Zanjeer remake, says that this movie should not be remade as it is not possible to recreate the same magic on screen.

Ram Charan Teja, who is busy touring for Zanjeer promotion, told IANS, "I don't think Magadheera should be remade nor do I think it will be remade. It is very difficult to recreate the same magic." The actor added, "Magadheera was not made by one person; it was the effort of an entire team and unless the same team comes back, I don't think it will do justice."

Citing the example of Bollywood star Aamir Khan-starrer 3 Idiots, Ram Charan Teja said, "3 Idiots was remade in various languages down south, but it wasn't successful anywhere because the magic was created by Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani. Some films shouldn't be remade."

Magadheera is a 2009 historical drama-romance film, which was directed SS Rajamouli and produced by Allu Aravind. Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Aggarwal have played the lead roles in the film, which has MM Keeravani's music, R Ravindar's art direction, KK Senthil Kumar's cinematography and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao's editing. It was an acclaimed movie both critically and commercially.
