Hyderabad:
Telugu
actor
Mahesh
Babu
is
known
for
lending
his
support
for
social
causes
in
the
past.
The
Superstar
is
at
it
again.
He
has
joined
hands
with
Bollywood
actor
Farhan
Akhtar
for
his
MARD
(Men
Against
Rape
and
Discrimination)
campaign.
According
to
reports,
Prince
will
recite
the
Telugu
version
of
the
poem,
which
has
been
written
in
Hindi
by
Farhan's
father,
lyricist
Javed
Akhtar
for
this
campaign.
Following
the
rapes
and
murders
of
several
woman
across
the
country,
Farhan
Akhtar
recently
launched
the
MARD
campaign
against
gender
inequality
and
crimes
against
women.
He
mobilised
support
for
it
at
an
IPL
match
in
Kolkata.
Going
a
step
ahead,
he
even
planned
to
propagate
his
campaign
with
a
poem
'Jiske
aankhon
mein
hai
jagmagati
hui'
penned
by
Javed
Akhtar.
In
bid
to
make
it
viral
in
all
areas,
Farhan
Akhtar
has
also
planned
to
get
it
translated
into
other
regional
languages
of
the
country.
It
has
already
been
translated
into
Urdu
and
Bengali.
A
source
close
to
Farhan
claims
that
Mahesh
Babu
has
agreed
to
recite
its
Telugu
version.
Singer
Shaan
has
recorded
the
Bengali
version.
Farhan
Akhtar
wants
this
poem
to
be
included
in
the
school
syllabus
for
sensitising
schoolchildren.
"He
feels
that
the
law
cannot
change
people
and
that
we
need
to
change
their
ideology.
That's
why
he
wants
to
take
this
poem
to
as
many
states
as
possible.
Messages
conveyed
through
songs
and
dance
sequences
put
the
point
across
more
effectively," Deccan
Chronicle
quotes
the
source
as
saying.
