Commercially,
Tollywood
is
one
of
the
most
successful
industries
of
India.
But
when
it
comes
to
the
recognition
in
national
and
international
level,
Telugu
film
industry
has
often
fallen
short
of
records
in
history.
Of
late,
it
was
reported
recently
that
TFPC
recommended
Midhunam
and
Sri
Jagadguru
Adi
Shankara
to
FFI
as
contenders
for
Indian
official
entry
for
Oscars.
The
latest
we
hear
is
that
two
Telugu
filmmakers
have
become
the
member
of
jury
committee
for
Indian
Oscar
entry.
Directors
N
Shankar
and
CV
Reddy
will
be
in
the
12-member
jury
committee
that
will
pick
an
Indian
film
for
the
Oscar
entry
in
the
best
foreign
film
category.
Fifteen
films
have
been
shortlisted
for
the
screening,
which
will
take
place
in
Hyderabad
between
September
17
and
22.
Two
Telugu
films
in
the
race
are
Midhunam
and
Sri
Jagadguru
Aadi
Shankara.
The
Film
Federation
of
India
is
yet
to
reveal
the
final
jury
list.
Talking
about
the
selection
of
jury,
N
Shankar
told,
"It's
indeed
a
privilege.
I'm
really
looking
forward
to
seeing
all
the
films
and
rub
shoulders
with
other
legends."
N
Shankar
is
known
for
movies
such
as
Jai
Bolo
Telangana
and
Jayam
Manade
Raa.
Whereas
veteran
filmmaker
CV
Reddy,
who
is
known
for
films
such
as
Pelli
Gola,
Amma
Nanna
Kaavali
and
Madhumati,
has
previously
been
part
of
the
jury
of
the
Indian
Panorama
Division.
