Naga Chaitanya To Star In Telugu Remake Of Singh Vs Kaur

Actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, who is currently busy shooting for his family film Manam, is likely to feature in the Telugu remake of recent Punjabi hit film Singh vs Kaur. Veteran producer D Ramanaidu, who had produced the original, wants to remake the film in Telugu and has planned to rope in the Bezawada star for the lead role in its Telugu version.

A source from D Ramanaidu's Suresh Productions has revealed the plans of the producer. The source said, "Ramanaidu plans to remake the film with Chaitanya. If everything goes as planned, the film will go on floors from December. The cast and crew will only be finalised after Chaitanya gives a nod to the project."

Ramanaidu has produced films in several Indian languages like Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi, but mostly Telugu over the years. Suresh Productions, which completes 50 years in operation in November, plans to do a family multi-starrer soon. The source added, "He (Ramanaidu) has plans to do a film featuring his son Venkatesh and grandsons Rana, Naga Chaitanya and Abhiram. This project has been on his mind for very long, but is likely to go on floors soon."

Punjabi romantic-comedy Singh vs Kaur is a low-budget film. It revolves around a story of a young man, who in an attempt to get rid of an unwanted marriage proposal, ends up lying to his entire village that he loves somebody named Jasneet Kaur from Vancouver. What happens next will form the crux of the movie. It was one of the sleeper hits of the year with its collections crossing Rs 20 crore at the Box Office.
