Nayanthara following Vidya Balan’s footsteps

Hyderabad: Actress Nayantara is all set to follow the footsteps of Bollywood actress Vidya Balan. Yes! The popular South Indian actress has confirmed that she would play the role Vidya Bhagchi in Telugu and Telugu remake of director Sujoy Ghosh's hit Bollywood film Kahaani, which is directed by Shekhar Kammula.

Soon after Endemol India and Moving Pictures acquired the remake rights for Telugu and Tamil versions of Kahaani, the speculations about cast some leading actress were being made. The names of Nayantara and Anushka Shetty had topped the consideration list of the makers. But finally, it was Nayan, who has bagged this much-coveted role.

In a chart with a leading English newspaper, Nayantara has confirmed that she has been roped in for the Kahaani remake in Telugu and Tamil and she is all excited to play this lead role. "I have signed the film and I am very happy that I am doing a film like Kahaani," the Chennai Times quotes Nayan as saying.

The Kahaani remake has created a lot of curiosity among the South Indian film goers. Earlier, talking about the movie, Sekhar Kammula had told PTI, "We are currently working on the final elements of the script. We hope to give a good spin to it. We are keeping the soul and the quest intact but will do changes with the end. As far as setting is concerned, Hyderabad would be a great place to set the story."

However, renowned novelist Yandamoori Veerendranath is co-writing the adaptation with Sekhar Kammula for the remake of Kahaani. Vijay C Kumar will be the director of photography, while Marthand Venkatesh handles the editing work for the film.
