Nampally
court
has
issued
a
non-bailable
arrest
warrant
against
Telugu
actor-filmmaker
Jeevitha
and
her
actor
husband
Rajasekhar
in
a
dud
cheque
case,
police
said
Monday.
Petitioner
Paranadhama
Reddy,
a
financier,
filed
a
case
after
a
cheque
for
Rs.36
lakh
issued
by
the
couple
bounced
due
to
insufficient
funds
in
the
account.
A
police
official
of
the
Jubilee
Hills
station
told
IANS,
"The
case
was
filed
few
months
back,
but
the
couple
failed
to
appear
in
court
despite
being
summoned
several
times.
Therefore,
the
court
issued
a
non-bailable
warrant
and
directed
the
police
to
take
them
into
custody
before
Oct
29
and
produce
them
in
the
court."
This
is
not
the
first
time
Rajasekhar
and
Jeevitha
are
involved
in
a
cheque
bounce
case.
In
2008,
Proddatur
Civil
Judge
Anitha
had
issued
a
non-bailable
warrant
against
the
couple
in
a
cheque-bounced
case
filed
by
cine
financier
Nagaraju.
This
star
couple
had
also
faced
the
similar
cases
in
2010.
Rajasekhar
has
starred
in
nearly
100
films
in
his
over
two-decade
long
career,
including
Ankusam
and
Praja
Teerpu.
Jeevitha
is
an
actress-turned-filmmaker
is
remembered
for
her
performance
in
Dharma
Pathini
and
Maruthi.
As
a
director,
she
has
helmed
films
such
as
Satyameva
Jayate
and
Mahankali.
