First Look: Rana Daggubati bags hero's role in Rudrama Devi

Actor Rana Daggubati has won lots of accolades for his performance in his recent release Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum. Especially, his diction and body language in the period drama in the film have brought him several new offers. The latest project to come his way is none other than director Gunasekhar's much-hyped historical drama Rudrama Devi starring Anushka Shetty in leads.

Rudrama Devi is a period movie about the efforts and tribulations of Rani Rudrama Devi, a prominent ruler of the Kakatiya dynasty on the Deccan Plateau. Anushka Shetty is playing the title role in this female-centric film. It will be the first historical stereoscopic 3D film in India. The flick, which has the music of Ilayaraja, will be made under the banner of Guna Team Works with a whopping budget.

The producers of Rudrama Devi had recently approached Rana Daggubati for the role of the hero in the film and the actor has given his consent for it. The son of producer Suresh Babu will appear as Chalukya Veerabhadrudu in the movie. He has already started shooting for the movie and its makers have released his first look in it.

However, Rana Daggubati has recently bagged an important role in director SS Rajamouli's upcoming period drama Bahubali starring Prabhas in lead. He is essaying the role of Prabas's brother, which has negative shades. Currently, he is undergoing training in horse riding and sword fight with Vietnamese fighters for this highly-awaited flick.
