Sahasam (3 days) first weekend collection at Box Office

The much-hyped Telugu movie Sahasam, which hit the screens across the globe on July 12, has got fantastic opening in Andhra Pradesh and other parts of the world. The Gopichand and Taapsee Pannu starrer, which has reportedly been made with a whopping budget of Rs 30 crores, has done a wonderful collection at the worldwide Box Office in the first weekend. It is said to have almost recovered its production cost in just three days.

Sahasam, which released in 60 screens in America, has collected Rs 1.11 crores ($1,85,394) from 50 screens at the USA Box Office in its opening weekend. The makers of the movie, who are all thrilled with its performance, are yet to announce its collection in AP and other parts of India. It has become the biggest opener in the career of Gopichand and Taapsee.

But if we are to go by the word of Taapsee Pannu, the heroine of the film, the movie Sahasam has approximately collected Rs 20+ crores nett at the global Box Office. The elated actress has revealed the news on her Twitter account. On Monday morning, the actress wrote, "Finally d day I waited for since long! Wid 70 percent of recovery over weekend itself I can happily say "thank u for making #sahasam a hit."

Directed by Chandrasekhar Yelati, Sahasam is an action adventure film, which had been creating positive buzz ever since it went on floors. The movie received positive reviews from film critics, who raved Yelati's story and direction and Gopichand's performance. Besides this, the viewers also gave it thumbs up. With a terrific word of mouth, the movie is expected to recover its complete production cost in the first week.
