During the investigation, the stalker reportedly claimed that he did not intend to scare her and he was there to seek a job for his brother. In a statement to the media, Shruti Hassan said, "In all the time this man was on the set, he never approached me or my staff for a job. If he had approached us for a job we would have dealt with it appropriately."

The 27-year-old actress, daughter of veteran actors Kamal Hassan and Sarika, says she trusts the Mumbai police to take the "best" step. Shruti Hassan added, "But as a single woman living alone in Mumbai, I take serious offence to someone coming to my house and trying to barge through my door. I trust the Mumbai police will know best how to deal with such an act."

However, Shruti Hassan took to her Twitter page on Sunday evening to thank the Mumbai police for their support. The actress tweeted, "My sincerest heart felt thanks to the mumbai police for their support and efficiency at this trying time - so grateful."
