Many
Telugu
actors
are
disappointed
with
Supreme
Court's
verdict
on
criminalising
homosexuality.
On
Wednesday,
the
court
has
upheld
IPC
Section
377
that
criminalises
gay
sex.
Tollywood
stars
like
Siddharth,
Shruti
Hassan,
Rahul
Ravindran,
Lavanya,
Chinmayi
Sripaada
and
a
few
others
have
condemned
the
Court's
judgment.
Siddharth
is
most
active
on
Twitter
and
he
often
expresses
his
opinion
on
every
current
affair.
The
actor,
who
is
shocked
by
the
SC
verdict,
tweeted,
"We
are
calling
our
citizens
criminals
for
doing
something
that
is
their
fundamental
birth
right
to
do
&
is
natural.
Mera
Bharat
kahaan?
Sad.
Face
it.
Whoever
comes
to
power,
the
people
will
always
be
powerless.
Some
of
us,
all
of
us...the
species
most
at
risk
is
us."
The
Telugu
actor
added,
"My
dear
friends
from
the
LGBT
community,
the
next
time
anybody
speaks
to
you
about
how
great
India
is,
take
a
selfie
of
you
slapping
them.
India
is
a
bigot
nation.
I
pray
that
every
person
who
tries
to
deny
another
person
their
rights
gets
IBS.
Bigots
beware.
Hex
hex
hex!"
On
her
Twitter
page,
actress
Shruti
Hassan
also
wrote,
"Second
377
its
frightening
how
someone
else
decides
how
when
and
who
you
should
love
-basically
freedom
of
choice
isn't
legal
anymore." She
added,
"So
marriage
is
a
natural
choice
has
nothing
to
do
with
society
I
guess
:)"
Actor
Rahul
Ravindran
tweeted,
"A
way
of
life
is
made
illegal
again.
Millions
were
counting
on
sense
to
prevail.
What
this
means
is
that
thousands
will
go
back
to
being..."
Actress
Lavanya
Tripathi
tweeted,
"Thr
are
more
hidius
crimes
in
our
country
than
gay
sex,
in
fact
its
nt
even
a
crime,
SC
needs
to
take
strict
action
against
rape
first..."
Singer
Chinmayi
Sripaada
tweeted,
"Beg
your
pardon
Supreme
Court
of
India,
but
criminalising
homosexuality
doesn't
seem
like
justice
upheld."
