What is Sonakshi Sinha's remuneration for Mahesh Babu's Shivam?

Hyderabad: Everyone knows that Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha is foraying into Telugu films with Superstar Mahesh Babu's upcoming movie Shivam, which is directed by Krish. But not many know how much money she is getting to star in this big-budget flick. If we are to go by the buzz in the T-Town, her remuneration is almost equal to the payment of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Rajinikanth's Robot.

Sonakshi Sinha debuted in films with Hindi movie Dabangg in 2010 and so far, she has five releases like Dabangg, Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Son of Sardaar and Dabangg 2 for her credit. Except Joker, all of them have been Blockbuster success at the Box Office and joined Rs 100 crore club. Her popularity has no bounds now and she is one of the most sought after actresses in Bollywood.

The secret of Sonakshi Sinha's success is that she is very choosy and makes careful selections. When the makers of Telugu movie Shivam approached her, she liked the script of the film and gave her consent to star alongside Mahesh Babu in it. But the actress reportedly quoted Rs 5 crore as her remuneration. Since she had lot of demand in the B-Town, the producer are said to have agreed to pay her this hefty amount.

However, top actresses in South India get Rs 1.5 to 2 crores for a film. Earlier, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had reportedly been paid more than Rs 5 crores for the multilingual movie Robot. If the news about Sonakshi Sinha comes out to be true, then she will become the highest paid heroine in the Telugu film industry. But trade pandits in Tollywood question whether it is right for producer Aswani Dutt to pay her such a big amount!
