Sukumar Signs Sumanth Ashwin In Maiden Production

Filmmaker Sukumar Bandreddi, who is directing superstar Mahesh Babu in 1: Nenokkadine, is all set to turn producer. The director has signed up actor Sumanth Ashwin for his maiden Telugu production venture, which will be directed by Verma Reddy. Sumanth, who is basking in the success of romantic-drama Anthaku Mundhu Aa Tharavatha (AMAT), is expected to start shooting for the film soon.

Talking to IANS, Sukumar spoke about his maiden production, which will hit the floors after he wraps up 1: Nenokkadine. The filmmaker said, "I liked Sumanth's performance in AMAT. I thought he would be apt for the role in this film. Moreover, I'm keen to work with a young and energetic team, preferably newcomers. I'm busy working on 1: Nenokkadine, and as soon as I complete it, I shall resume this project."

However, 1: Nenokkadine is Sukumar's next project after the movie 100% Love, and he has taken long time to complete the latest directorial venture. The filmmaker, who recently floated a production house, is keen to make films with his associates. Meanwhile, Sumanth Ashwin has signed another untitled Telugu film with filmmaker Maruthi. After completing this project, the actor is likely to take up the Sukumar's maiden production, which is expected hit the screens in December 2014.
