Apoorva
Lakhia's
Toofan
(Thoofan),
which
marks
his
debut
in
Telugu,
has
done
excellent
business
at
the
USA
Box
Office.
The
first
weekend
collection
of
the
Ram
Charan
Teja
and
Priyanka
Chopra
starrer
in
the
country
is
almost
equal
to
what
its
Hindi
version
Zanjeer
has
raked
in
from
triple
amount
of
screen
count
in
foreign
countries
like
USA,
UAE
and
Australia.
Toofan,
which
is
the
next
biggest
outing
of
Ram
Charan
Teja
after
Naayak,
opened
to
an
earth-shattering
response
in
America
and
picked
up
very
well
on
Saturday
and
Sunday.
The
Telugu
version
of
Zanjeer,
has
collected
approximately
Rs
2.56
crores
($393,146)
from
51
screens
at
the
USA
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
It
has
beaten
the
record
of
Naayak,
which
had
raked
in
Rs
2.11
crores
($3,87,808)
from
54
screens
in
the
country
in
6-day
extended
opening
weekend.
But
its
Hindi
version
has
fallen
back
in
the
international
market,
while
its
rival
Shuddh
Desi
Romance
rocked
the
viewers.
Zanjeer
has
collected
Rs
3.20
crores
($491,546)
from
its
screenings
in
countries
like
USA,
UAE
and
Australia
in
the
opening
weekend.
It
has
come
as
a
big
set
back
for
Ram
Charan
Teja,
who
was
nursing
lot
of
dreams
about
his
career
in
Bollywood.
