remade
in
Hindi.
According
to
reports,
filmmaker
Ekta
Kapoor
has
bought
the
rights
of
this
Telugu
flick
from
producer
Bellamkonda
Suresh.
This
Bollywood
remake
is
directed
by
David
Dhawan
and
it
would
feature
his
son
Varun
Dhawan
in
the
lead
role.
Kandireega
is
a
romantic
comedy
film,
which
was
released
on
August
12,
2011.
The
film
revolves
around
Seenu
(Ram),
who
is
a
street-smart
guy,
doing
his
degree
at
a
college
in
Hyderabad.
He
falls
in
love
with
Sruthi
(Hansika
Motwani)
whom
goon
Bhavani
(Sonu
Sood)
forces
to
love
him.
The
rest
of
the
story
is
all
about
comedy
of
errors.
On
Monday,
the
makers
of
the
film
released
a
teaser
of
the
Hindi
remake
of
Kandireega,
which
features
an
actor
with
back
to
the
camera
and
holding
a
poster
reading:
Mafia
Don
Kidnaps
Girl!
Varun
Dhawan,
who
hogged
the
limelight
with
Student
Of
The
Year,
will
play
Ram's
role.
Talking
to
IANS,
he
said,
"I
am
doing
a
film
with
Balaji
Motion
Pictures,
for
which
work
has
already
begun."
Meanwhile,
the
officials
at
the
Balaji
Motion
Pictures
(BMP)
have
also
confirmed
the
news.
Girish
Johar,
BMP
head
of
acquisition
and
distribution
said,
"The
film
is
a
remake
of
Telugu
film
Kandireega.
We
are
remaking
it
with
Varun
under
his
father's
shadow." But
he
did
not
any
details
about
the
heroine.
