Vishwaroopam will become big hit in Telugu: Kamal Hassan

The much-awaited multilingual movie Vishwaroopam, which has created the headlines for several controversies, is finally set to hit the screens across the globe on a grand scale. Superstar Kamal Hassan, who is its hero, director and producer, has confirmed that the Telugu version of this flick is scheduled to release on January. He is confident that it will become a big hit at the AP Box Office.

Vishwaroopam is a spy thriller, which is written and directed by Kamal Hassan and produced by Kamal and his brother Chandra Haasan under their home banner Raaj Kamal Films International. The movie features Kamal Haasan, Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have composed music for it.

Vennelakanti has penned the dialogues for the Telugu version of the film Vishwaroopam, while Ramajogayya Sastry has written lyrics. Dasari Narayan Rao's Siri Media, which has bought its distribution rights of Andhra Pradesh, will release it on a record number of theatres in the state. Interestingly, this film will not have any new competitor in the state except old releases like Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Naayak.

In a statement released to Oneindia, Kamal Hassan says, "Vishwaroopam is finally releasing worldwide on January 25 and Dasari Narayan Rao is releasing it on the same day in the state. The music of its Telugu version has got very good response. My super-hit film Dasavathaaram has become big hit at AP Box Office. I am very confident that my latest outing will become bigger hit than it in the state."

The first look poster and a teaser of Vishwaroopam were released on May Day 2012 as part of the film's marketing process. The poster consisted of Kamal Haasan wearing a green khaki jacket, with a flying pigeon and a skyline of a city consisting of several skyscrapers in the background.

The snippets from the film Vishwaroopam were unveiled during the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend and awards in Singapore in June 2012, as the actor-director screened excerpts from the film.
