Vishwaroopam
The
development
of
the
project
Vishwaroopam
commenced
soon
after
the
release
of
Hassan's
Manmadhan
Ambu
and
several
Hollywood
technicians
were
roped
in
to
lend
their
technical
expertise.
Vishwaroopam
Initially,
Vishwaroopam
was
to
be
directed
by
Selvaraghavan,
but
due
to
the
delay
in
the
casting,
which
took
a
relatively
long
period
of
time,
made
the
director
walk
out
of
the
project.
So
Kamal
Hassan
himself
took
the
responsibility
of
the
direction.
Vishwaroopam
Vishwaroopam
is
one
of
the
biggest
budget
movies
in
Indian
cinema
after
Endhiraan.
The
movie
has
been
shot
extensively
overseas
in
countries
like
the
United
States
and
Canada.
It
has
also
been
canned
in
domestic
locations
like
Chennai
and
Mumbai.
Sanu
Varghese
has
cranked
the
camera
for
it.
Vishwaroopam
Vishwaroopam
have
been
simultaneously
produced
in
three
languages
like
Tamil,
Telugu
and
Hindi.
The
movie
has
been
titled
Vishwaroopam
in
Tamil
and
Telugu,
while
its
Hindi
version
called
Vishwaroop.
Vishwaroopam
The
first
look
poster
and
a
teaser
of
Vishwaroopam
were
released
on
May
Day
2012
as
part
of
the
film's
marketing
process.
The
poster
consisted
of
Kamal
Haasan
wearing
a
green
khaki
jacket,
with
a
flying
pigeon
and
a
skyline
of
a
city
consisting
of
several
skyscrapers
in
the
background.
Vishwaroopam
The
snippets
from
the
film
Vishwaroopam
were
unveiled
during
the
International
Indian
Film
Academy
(IIFA)
weekend
and
awards
in
Singapore
in
June
2012,
as
the
actor-director
screened
excerpts
from
the
film.
Vishwaroopam
The
highlight
of
Vishwaroopam
is
the
use
of
the
sound
format
called
Auro
3D.
For
the
first
time,
Auro
3D
was
implemented
in
George
Lucas' Hollywood
movie
Red
Tail.
And
Vishwaroopam
has
become
the
second
movie
in
the
world
and
the
first
film
in
India
to
use
this
technology.
Vishwaroopam
Initially,
Vishwaroopam
was
to
hit
the
screens
worldwide
for
Sankrathi
2013.
But
the
movie
was
postponed
due
to
the
rift
between
Kamal
Hassan
and
theatre
owners
in
Tamil
Nadu.
Vishwaroopam
When
no
distributor
in
Tamil
Nadu
came
forward
to
release
it
in
the
state,
Kamal
Hassan
decided
to
release
it
on
DTH
platform
on
January
10.
But
this
announcement
landed
him
in
controversy
with
the
theatre
owners
boycotting
it.
Vishwaroopam
However,
Vishwaroopam
is
finally
set
to
release
in
Telugu
and
Tamil
on
January
25.
A
week
after
this,
its
Hindi
version
will
hit
the
screens
on
February
2.
