Will Jr NTR’s Baadshah recover its production cost?

Hyderabad: Junior NTR's upcoming movie Baadshah has been generating a new buzz everyday, ever since director Srinu Vaitla announced it. The latest news we hear about the film is that its budget has crossed Rs 55 crores. Some experts from Tollywood wonder whether it will be able to recover its production cost, while few others say that the movie would recover this amount in its pre-release business.

The much-talked about the movie Baadshah is a romantic action entertainer, which has the story of Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat. Junior NTR is playing a brand new role, but the makers have kept its details under wrap. Kajal Aggarwal is playing the heroine in this big budget movie, which is produced by Gabbar Singh fame Bandla Ganesh Babu.

The major portion of the film has been shot in Italy, Switzerland and Bangkok. A few portions of the film have also been canned at a private house in Hyderabad. Now reports suggest that the climax scenes, which include action sequences, were recently shot near Nagarjuna sagar, where the producers had erected huge sets for it. The major part of its budget has reportedly been spent on this climax.

However, a few trade experts' question is that "Will such a big budget movie make profitable business?" If we are to go by its current hype and craze, the movie will obviously do good collection. It was recently reported that its distribution rights for Guntur and West Godavari have been sold for Rs 4 crores and Rs 2.66 crores, respectively, and they are record price. It is likely to collect Rs 50 crores from its theatrical rights. And its music and satellite rights would fetch it another Rs 7 to 10 crores. What do you feel about it? Comment below.
