Aagadu Scored Higher Than Kick, Singham Combined In US: Anil Sunkara

Superstar Mahesh Babu's latest movie Aagadu, which created lot of buzz prior its release, has received mixed reviews from both critics and viewers. The movie has been criticised for its routine and cliched story. But the makers of the film are least bothered about the reviews as they are enjoying its huge opening across the globe. Producer Anil Sunkar says that the film has recreated history in several areas.

Soon after Aagadu hit the theatres in India, Anil Sunkara, who has jointly produced it with Ram and Gopi Achanta, took to his Twitter page to talk about its collections. He tweeted, "AAGADU US premieres 508K (20 more theaters to come). "AAGADU scored higher than KICK nd SINGHAM combined in US premiers. UNSTOPPABLE MIGHT OF SUPERSTAR." He added, "AAGADU gulf purchase price got even before first day ended."

Aagadu has become the Telugu film to cross $ 1 million mark at the USA Box Office. Anil Sunkara tweeted, "Almost 1 million USD by end of day 1. Many screens to report yet. AAGADU on d way to create history in INDIAN CINEMA in US. KISSA KALLAAS..." He added, "AAGADU becomes the first movie to cross 1M mark by end of first day(including premiers on thursday).."

Talking about the mixed reviews for the movie Aagadu, Anil Sunkara wrote, "Reviews are personal.We cannot nd shd not comment on them. How ever Telugu film lovers know WHAT TO SEE WHAT NOT TO SEE ....." The producer added, "Inspite of mixed reviews overseas extra shows are getting added even now."

With its superb collection in Nizam on the first day, Aagadu has smashed the record of Pawan Kalyan's Attarintiki Daredi, which was the all time highest grosser movie in the region. Anil Sunkara tweeted, NIZAM nawab reclaims his throne. Highest ever first day collections in NIZAM. Thank you telugu movie lovers."
