Filmmaker N Shankar Keen to Contest LS Elections From TRS

Filmmaker N Shankar is one of the well-known Telugu filmmakers in Telangana and his movie Jai Bolo Telangana has enhanced the intensity of the movement for the separation of Telangana. The filmmaker has now evinced his interest to plunge into politics and contest on behalf of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the Lok Sabha elections from Nalgonda constituency.

In a statement to media, N Shankar gushes that he wants to contest in Parliamentary election, but he is yet to decide on it. The Telanagana director said, "I have expressed interest to contest, but nothing has been confirmed till now. So it's too early to make any official announcements about my political entry. I will get to know in a week's time and then I will talk about it."

Shankar has done several movies like Raam, Aayudham and Jayam Manade Ra. Recently he had revealed that he would set up Telangana Cinema Force, which would be head by himself. He had said, "All these years, the Telugu film industry has been run by rich and influential people, but we won't let that happen anymore. We are on the verge of setting up a film chamber as well as a union to protect members of our film family in Telangana."
