I'm Lucky To Be Acting With Rajinikanth In Lingaa: Jagapathi Babu

By Ians English

Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu, who will be seen alongside Rajinikanth in his next Tamil film Lingaa, considers himself lucky for landing an opportunity to share screen space with Kollywood superstar. The movie, which is directed by KS Ravikumar, was officially launched at Chamundi Hills in Mysore on Friday.

The elated Jagapathi Babu told IANS, "Who would not feel lucky to act with the Thalaiva? I'm lucky and extremely happy that I will be working with him (Rajinikanth) for the second time. When most actors are waiting for a single opportunity to work with him, I've got my second chance."

Jagapathi Babu has earlier worked with Rajinikanth in Telugu drama Kathanayakudu. A romantic hero for nearly two decades, the actor was recently seen as an antagonist in Telugu movie Legend. Asked if he would also be essaying a negative role in Lingaa, he said: "I can't divulge details about my role. I've been told that Rajini sir really liked my performance in Legend. I'm just looking forward to work with him."

Lingaa, which also features Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty, will be helmed by KS Ravikumar. Meanwhile, Jagapathi Babu will be seen in the role of Mahesh Babu's father in upcoming yet-untitled Telugu film to be directed by Koratala Siva.
