IPL 7 Affecting Collection Of 20 Big Telugu Films!

But in recent years, the Indian Premiere League (IPL) has badly affected the collection of the films. The 7th edition of the IPL, which began yesterday, is now set to take a toll on the business of several big ticket Tollywood flicks releasing this summer.

The latest edition of the IPL kick-started in Abu Dhabi, Dubai on April 16 and it will continue till May 25. This season runs for 40 days and completely covers this Summer holidays. According to the surveys, major chunk of the audience for the T20 matches comes from the age group between 18 and 35. these matches keep the youths engaged throughout this summer season.

More than 20 Telugu movies have been lined of release in theatres. Most of them are much-awaited and big-budget movie. Tollywood has shelled out approximately Rs 400 crores for the production and publicity of these film. Unfortunately, their target audience are also youth aged between 18 and 35. The present IPL fever is giving sleepless nights producers of these flicks, who are scared of suffering huge losses.

A few filmmakers, who want to escape from suffering losses, are reportedly considering on postponing the release of their movies. But there are some big-ticket films that are lined up for release post this summer holidays and makers of those movies have already book a large number of cinema halls in the state, which has now created a problem of unavailability of theatres.

Another big problem is that some of the films like Rey, Vikramasimha, Manam, Anamika, Billa Ranga, Prathighatana and Janda Pai Kapiraju have already been delayed for long time and the makers of these films can not postpone their release dates.
