I anticipated Audiences' Response For 1: Nenokkadine: Mahesh Babu

Director Sukumar's 1: Nenokkadine has received mixed response from film critics and movie buffs. The production team was keeping mum on their criticism. Finally, Superstar Mahesh Babu, who is undeterred by the lukewarm response, has broken his silence and said that he is "proud" of the movie as it allowed him to step out of his "comfort zone" for the first time in his career.

Talking to IANS, Mahesh Babu said, "I did this film because I knew it wasn't a commercial outing. Therefore, I anticipated the response from the audience even before the release. I'm extremely proud of the film because for the first time in my career, I got an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and act."

The film 1: Nenokkadine managed to collect only Rs 8.4 crore at the Andhra Pradesh Box Office on its opening day and its business went down on the following days due to a strong negative word of mouth. Mahesh Babu added, "The film may have not been received as well as my earlier films but people have appreciated my work and I think that's my biggest reward."

Directed by B Sukumar, 1: Nenokkadine, which released in theatres on January 10, is the story of a man's search for the killer of his parents. After the release of the film, Mahesh Babu will join the sets of director Srinu Vaitla's Telugu action-drama Aagadu next week.
