Nagarjuna’s Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu Tops GRP Chart

The one and half hour episode of the Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu (MEK) anchored by movie icon Akkineni Nagarjuna recorded an all time high of 9.7 TVR in female 15+ and 8.2 TVR in cs 4+ this week. The show has garnered the top 4th positions in the non-fiction category in the launch week itself. This rare feat is never achieved so far in the South of India, when KBC is done in regional languages.

According to data compiled by TAM, Nagarjuna Anchored Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu recorded an all time high of 9.7 tvr in female 15+ and maintained an average of 6.7 TVR in cs 4+. The No 1 show so far in Telugu Television is pushed to 6th position in the opening week of this game show, which has contributed 110 GRPs this week for MAA TV.

The highest GRP contributed by a super hit Blockbuster movie is only 65 this week. And the highest ever GRPs contributed by any Blockbuster movie till today in the last two years in all GECs is only 104 GRPs. Meelo Evaru Koteeswaradu has garnered highest grps dwarfing even the blockbuster and beloved films, comedy shows and soap operas in the television viewers rating race across all channels.

It is the highest average rating recorded by the top general entertainment channels (GECs) in the time-band of 9 pm to 10:30 pm. Over 26% of the 80 Lakh homes switch on their Television sets in the state of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh 4 days a week to watch Nagarjuna's Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu basing the format of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).

Reality TV show Meelo Evaru Kotishwarudu is a quiz show, which inspired from hit Hindu TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Difference Between MEK And KBC

MEK is a direct adaptation from KBC and there is only one between both these versions. Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan was the host of the Hindi version. Whereas Tollywood King Nagarjuna is hosting its Telugu version.
