Nayantara Will Start Promoting Anamika This Week: Sekhar Kammula

Filmmaker Sekhar Kammula has denied rumours that he was upset with actress Nayantara for not attending the recent audio launch of his film Anamika, which is a Telugu and Tamil remake of hit Hindi movie Kahaani. He says everything is fine between them and she would start promoting it this week.

In a statement to media, Sekhar Kammula said, "I have immense respect for Nayantara as an actress. She's a thorough professional and she couldn't attend the audio launch due to sudden commitments. I was not upset with her about it and everything between us is fine." He added, "She will start promoting the film this week. I'm extremely happy with the way the film has come out. I'm excited as well as nervous about the release."

Kahaani is suspense thriller written and directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The movie revolves around the story of a pregnant woman, who is searching for her missing husband in Kolkata during the festival of Durga Puja. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has played the lead role in the movie. Made on shoe-string budget, the movie has garnered both critical and commercial success.

Sekhar Kammula has reportedly made certain changes in the screenplay of the Tamil and Telugu remake of Kahaani. Nayantara is reprising the role of Vidya Balan in Anamika, which will release worldwide on May 1. The film also features Vaibhav Reddy, Pasupathy and Harshvardhan Rane in important roles.
