Pictures: Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh 2 Launched
The muhurtham of Power Star Pawan Kalyan's much-awaited movie Gabbar Singh 2, which is directed by Sampath Nandi, was held at the Venkateshwara Temple in Film Nagar, Hyderabad today (February 21). The opening ceremony was a grand event and several dignitaries from Telugu film industry were in presence.

GK Marar, the father of Pawan Kalyan's close friend Sharath Marar, who is producing the movie Gabbar Singh 2, attended the function with his wife and started the shooting of the movie by clapping the board. Chief justice Pramod Reddy, who is close friend of Pawan and Sharath, directed the first shot, while senior production manager switched on the camera. Producer Suresh Babu, KLN Raju, Gemini Kiran and few others attended the launch function.
Sources from the industry reveal that the characterisation of Police Gabbar Singh remains the same, but it will be more of a reboot. Addressing the launch event, Sharath Marar said, "Currently, the scripting of Gabbar Singh 2 is in progress. This is not a sequel to Gabbar Singh. Rather it has a fresh story. Today, we have officially launched the film and its regular shooting will start from April. We are planning to release it during Dussera festival."
