Rudhramadevi is one of the big-ticket Telugu movies of 2014. Director Gunasekhar, who is also producing the movie, has already spent heavily on the lavish sets and costumes of the movie. Now, the filmmaker says that has shelled out a hefty sum of Rs 5 crore on the jewellery for actress Anushka Shetty, who is playing the role of princess Rani Rudhramadevi in this most-talked about film.
In a statement to the media, Gunasekhar confirmed the news about the jewellery. The director said, "We had to keep everything as authentic as possible. From make-up to costumes to jewellery, we wanted authenticity. Therefore, we didn't hesitate to spend so much on jewellery worth Rs 5 crore. All this will make our efforts look authentic on screen."
Rudhramadevi is touted to be the second highly-anticipated Telugu film after SS Rajamouli's Baahubali. The film features an ensemble cast of Rana Daggubati, Hamsa Nandini, Prakash Raj, Catherine Tresa and Baba Sehegal in important roles. Maestro Illayaraja is composing tunes for movie, which has the story set against the backdrop of Kakatiya dynasty.
The shooting of Rudhramadevi was launched on 14 Feb 2013 in Warangal and the last schedule was reported wrapped up earlier this month. The makers are said to kick-start its post production works soon. The film is expected to hit screens on July 2014.
