Telangana Shakuntala Dies Of Heart Attack

Senior actress Telangana Shakuntala died of heart attack on Saturday (June 14). She was 63 and survived by a son and daughter.

Shakuntala was admitted to a private hospital around 2.30 am after suffering a cardiace arrest. She was declared brought dead. "She was admitted to the hospital around 2.30 a.m. last night after a cardiac arrest at her residence. She was declared dead on arrival," a hospital source of Narayana Hrudayalaya told IANS. The actress, who shot to fame in the villain roles, made her debut in Maa Bhoomi in Telugu film industry. She acted in 74 movies and language had never been a barrier for her as she acted in all the leading South Indian industries.

She was a Maharashtrian by birth. Telangana Shakuntala started her acting career in theatre before venturing into movies. Aha Naa Pellanta, Bhadrachalam, Osey Ramulamma, Nuvvu Nene, Gulabi, Lakshmi and Okkadu were some of the popular movies of the actress.

Her ability to speak fluently in both Rayalseema and Telangana accents won her huge fans. Her last movie was Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda earlier this year.
