Andhra
Pori,
a
remake
of
a
Marathi
super
hit
film
Time
Pass,
has
hit
the
theaters
with
a
promising
cast
under
the
production
of
Ramesh
Prasad.
Let
us
re-view
the
film
to
have
an
idea
about
its
share
of
highs
and
lows.
Andhra
Pori
Story
Narsing
Yadav
(Aakash
Puri)
is
a
chilled
out
Telangana
boy,
who
falls
in
love
with
an
Andhrite,
school
going
girl,
Prashanthi
(Ulka
Gupta).
As
usual,
Narsing
tries
to
flatter
Prashanthi
and
the
girl,
who
is
bound
by
the
restrictions
back
home,
cannot
express
her
love
as
she
fears
her
father
Gopal
Rao
and
brother
Balu
(Arvind
Krishna).
How
does
Narsing
win
his
girl's
love
beating
the
odds,
forms
the
rest
of
the
story.
Performances
Aakash
Puri,
who
is
a
popular
and
a
proven
face
as
a
child
artist,
forayed
for
the
first
time
as
a
hero
in
this
film.
His
teenage
looks
and
innocence
was
a
plus
to
his
role,
though
he
has
to
work
quite
a
lot
on
his
body
language
and
dances.
Otherwise,
he
was
pretty
good
on
his
Telangana
diction
and
acting
skills.
To
put
it
precisely,
he
passes
the
litmus
test
and
can
have
a
bright
future
as
a
hero
with
a
little
more
experience
in
hand.
Ulka
Gupta
did
not
get
to
prove
her
mettle
as
she
played
a
sweet
and
cute
looking
girl,
whose
job
is
only
to
give
away
a
shining
smile.
Other
cast,
Aravind
Krishna,
Sreemukhi
just
filled
the
roles
while
some
of
the
supposed
to
be
comedians
were
a
pain
in
the
film.
Blame
their
character
design
and
not
their
skills.
Technical
Aspects
Remakes,
somehow,
are
always
a
risky
task
to
take
up
and
the
first
time
director,
Raj
Madiraj
failed
to
recreate
the
magic.
Characters
took
a
lot
of
time
to
establish
while
the
story
gets
too
too
predictable
and
routine.
Narration
falls
flat
and
the
characters
and
the
emotions
were
pretty
forcible
and
ceased
to
create
any
impact.
Few
tunes
by
Josyabhatla
were
catchy
enough
and
his
retro
back
ground
score
suits
the
setting
of
the
film.
Cinematography
was
way
too
mediocre.
Overview
The
lethargic
screen-play
and
routine
story
played
a
spoilt
sport
for
Andhra
Pori
but
few
sub
plots
have
been
dealt
well.
If
you
are
too
bored
and
have
no
clue
about
what
to
do
during
the
weekend,
give
it
a
watch
for
some
decent
performances.
Aakash
Puri
Akash
Puri
was
popular
before
for
his
work
in
Dhoni,
The
Lotus
Pond,
Gabbar
Singh,
Bujjigadu
and
Chirutha,
as
a
child
artist.
Ulka
Gupta
Ulka
Gupta,
a
popular
face
on
Television
with
her
daily
soap,
Jhansi
Ki
Rani.
Songs
Dethadi
song
attracted
the
masses.
Retro
Touch
The
film
is
set
in
1990's.
Others
Arvind
Krishna
and
Srimukhi
sub
plot
could
have
been
dealt
better.
Other
Cast
Srikanth
Iyenger
played
Ulka
Gupta's
angry
father
and
a
Veteran
actress
Eshwari
Rao
played
a
caring
mother
of
Puri
Akash.
Plus
Points
Funny
characterizations
and
few
dialogues
were
hilarious
at
times.
Others
The
rest
of
the
cast
including
Annapurna,
Uttej,
the
kids
in
the
supporting
roles
and
they
did
an
impressive
job.
