Kota Srinivasa Rao was conferred with the India's 4th highest civilian award, Padma Shri, by the honorable President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee. A picture of Kota, receiving the Padma award has been making rounds on the internet.

He's the recipient of six Andhra Pradesh state government Nandi awards.Talking about the Civilian award, "I feel honoured. It's the recognition of my work. It came to me as a surprise because I never expected it", said Kota.
