Super Star Krishna completes 50 long years in the Telugu film industry. His first film Tena Manasulu released on March 31st 1965. He has an enviable fan base and was a major competitor to NTR and ANR during their times. Now, his scion, Mahesh Babu is successfully taking the legacy forward.
Padma Bhushan Super Star Krishna, who has acted in 350 odd films, was actually born as Siva Rama Krishna in a small town called Burripalem, in Andhra Pradesh. He is known for his gutsy attitude and different kind of films.

Australian Postal Stamp
Krishna has been conferred a rare honor by the Australian postal department. They have issued a special stamp dedicated to Superstar Krishna. The stamps costing Australian $ 1.65 each are available for use in the country.
In 2008, he got an honorary doctorate from Andhra University. In 2009, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian Cinema
Member Of Parliament
He was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Congress party in 1989.
First Bond Film
The very first James Bond kind of film was done in Telugu with Super Star Krishna. Gudachari 116 went on to become a blockbuster in those times.
He has directed 17 feature films and produced many films under Padmalaya Film Studio, a production house owned by him.
His only dream that is yet to be fulfilled is to act with his grandson, Gautham Krishna.
First Cinema Scope
He is credited for making the first Cinemascope film in Telugu, Alluri Seetharama Raju.
First Cow Boy Film
The first ever cow boy film, Mosagallaki Mosagallu was also done by Super Star Krishna.

Superstar Krishna is the 1st Hero and only Hero to act in 18 movies in a single calendar Year(1972).

The First Eastman Color film, Eenadu was also made by Krishna.

In December 2012, at the age of 69, Krishna announced his retirement from movies and politics.
