Akkineni Hero Turns Sperm Donor

The Telugu remake of critically-acclaimed Hindi film Vicky Donor is finally set to go on the floors later this month. The film has been in discussions from several months now and many heroes backed off to take up the film.

However, the remake is actually happening now. Starring Sumanth Akkineni , the film will be directed by Mallik Ram. "We will start shooting from the first or second week of December," Mallik revealed, adding that the lead team is yet to be finalized.

Apparently, It is rumored that actress Pallavi Subhash will be paired opposite Sumanth. "We really haven't finalised anybody yet. We've been in talks with a few heroines and we plan to make an official announcement in due course," Mallik clarified.

The film's remake was first announced in 2013 by filmmaker Madhura Sreedhar, but since things didn't fall in place and the project eventually went in to Sumanth's hand.

With Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam in the lead, Shoojit Sircar made a film on the subject of sperm donation in a light manner in 2012 through Vicky Donor. It was widely appreciated by critics and was also commercially successful. We must wait and see how far the debut director will be successful in adapting the sensitive story line to Telugu nativity and how Akkineni hero, Sumanth will pull it off.
