Gopichand, who is of late trying to make his place permanent among the mass heroes, has been taking some time off before he starts shooting for his next project. Apparently, the actor celebrated his son, Virat's first birthday in a grand manner yesterday.

Gopichand, who married Reshma, niece of hero Srikanth in 2013 and is blessed with a son. It is largely publicized that Gopichand has brought in the lady-luck home as he got his career's biggest hit post marriage.

Also, Gopichand's much appreciated makeover has been credited to his wife. Apart from all the good things Reshma did to Gopichand, professionally, he says that his son Virat is the biggest gift his wife could ever give him. Gopichand and Reshma's wedding is one of the big fat Tollywood weddings in the recent past.

On the work front, Gopichand is in a lull phase as he had to taste back to back debacles like Jil and Soukyam. He is reportedly going choosy with the scripts here on, since going with the formulaic films isn't working anymore.

Gopichand's next has been titled as Oxygen and the project will be directed by AM Ratnam's son Jothi Krishna and Produced by Aishwarya under Shri Sai Raam Creations. Rashi Khanna has been roped in for the female lead, while Jagapathi Babu enacts a crucial role.
