It
is
known
that
writer
Sarath
Chandra
had
complained
to
the
Telugu
Film
Writers
Association
about
plagiarism,
claiming
that
Srimanthudu
was
lifted
from
his
novel
Chachentha
Prema.
He
has
also
approached
a
Civil
Court,
filing
a
case
against
the
writer
and
director
of
the
film,
Koratala
Siva.
However,
the
hot
and
happening
director
denied
plagiarism
accusations,
while
talking
to
Suresh
Kavirayani
of
Deccan
Chronicle.
He
said
he
respects
other
writers,
being
a
writer
himself.
"The
case
is
in
the
court
and
I
can't
speak
anything
about
it
now.
My
film
has
already
released
and
his
novel
is
also
there
in
the
market.
With
huge
regards
towards
the
writer
and
with
respect
to
the
legal
system,
let
the
court
decide," he
said,
in
a
chat
with
the
daily.
However,
the
director
revealed
that
the
writers
association
is
in
favor
to
him,
after
going
through
both
the
sides
of
the
case.
The
association's
committee
member,
Parchuri
Gopala
Krishna,
was
hesitant
to
speak
further
on
the
issue,
since
it
is
now
in
the
court.
"The
issue
is
sub
judice
as
the
writer
approached
the
courts.
So
I
can't
tell
anything
about
it
as
it
will
be
contempt
of
court.
If
the
court
asks
us
about
it,
we
will
give
our
opinion,"
read
a
quote
from
Parchuri
in
DC.
Apparently,
now
the
court
has
to
decide
if
Srimanthudu
was
copied
or
is
an
original
script
by
Koratala
Siva.
Let
us
hope
justice
prevails.
