Last year, the dashing Vijay Deverakonda became the toast of Tollywood when Arjun Reddy opened to a good response at the box office and emerged as one of the biggest surprise hits of 2017. Directed by Sandeep Reddy, the black-comedy had a bold theme and this helped it click with the younger generation. Now, nearly a year later, the young heartthrob is in the limelight because of his latest release Geetha Govindam. Geetha Govindam opened on a good note in the US as well and collected nearly Rs 2 Crore on the opening day. In doing so, it outperformed Dulquer Salmaan-Keerthy Suresh's Mahanati and served as a strong proof of Vijay Deverakonda's popularity.

The general feeling is that Geetha Govindam is a pretty good film and features some strong performances. It has clicked with 'Gen Y' because of its youthful setting and lively screenplay.
