NTR Biopic: Sumanth Gets Trolled For Playing ANR In The Balakrishna Starrer And Here's Why

There's no denying the fact that Sumanth is one of the most popular and talented actors in the Telugu film industry today. The star enjoys a strong fan following thanks to his raw looks, charming personality, warm nature and sincere performances. Over the years, he has starred in quite a few successful films and this has helped him carve a niche in Tollywood. Now, Sumanth is in the news for a surprising reason. The actor recently revealed that he would be playing his grandfather and Telugu cinema's pride ANR in the NTR biopic.

As it so happens, this did not go down well with the Akkineni fans. They trolled Sumanth and asked him to opt out of the film. Some of them even tagged his official/verified handle in their tweets. In case you did not know, when ANR passed away in 2014, almost everyone from the industry had visited the Akkineni family and paid tribute to ANR. However, Balakrishna had refrained from doing so. It seems that the Akkineni fans are still upset with NBK.

This is an unfortunate situation and it remains to be seen how Sumanth reacts to the criticism.

In case you did not know, the NTR biopic features Balakrishna in the titular role and is being directed by Krish. Slated to hit the screens in 2019, the film will focus on the unknown aspects of the former Andhra Pradesh CM's life and will also highlight his rise to stardom. The NTR biopic also features Rana Daggubati and Vidya Balan in the lead. The Baahubali villain will apparently be playing the current Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu. On the other hand, Vidya will be playing NBK's on-screen wife in the film.

The NTR biopic is arguably one of the most ambitious Tollywood films in the recent and is bound to create a great deal of buzz when it ultimately hits the screens.
