There's no denying the fact that Naga Chaitanya is one of the most successful young in the Telugu film industry today. Fondly referred to as the 'Yuva Samarat', the heartthrob enjoys a pretty strong fan following thanks to his youthful looks, effective performances, bindass nature and remarkable versatility as an actor. During what has been an eventful career, Chay has starred in quite a few notable films and this has helped him carve a niche for himself in Tollywood.
At present, he is in the limelight because of his latest release Savyasachi which hit the screens on November 2, 2018 and opened to a decent response at the box office. Thereafter, it completely collapsed over the weekend.
A Big Disappointment!
According to the latest reports, Savysachi witnessed a drop in collections on Saturday(November 3, 2018) and tanked big time. The collections dropped further on Sunday(November 4, 2018) and this left Chay fans disappointed. The film's total Worldwide box office collections stand at Rs 8.09 Crore. All in all, it has fared worse than Shailaja Reddy Alludu.
Did The Negative WOM Wreck Savyasachi?
The general feeling that Savyasachi is an okayish film, however, it does not live up to the expectations. While the concept is interesting, the final output is not. Similarly, some critics have also said that R Madhavan has not been utilised properly. As such, the WOM is negative and this seems to have wrecked it completely.
Another Flop For Chay?
Naga Chaitanya's last release Shailaja Reddy Alludu tanked at the box office despite opening on a decent note. Savyasachi's box office performance over the first week suggests that it is unlikely to emerge as a success or help Chay get his career back on track.
The Way Ahead...
The Vijay starrer Sarkar is slated to hit the screens tomorrow(November 6,2018). Being a big film, it is likely to get a reasonably decent release in the Telugu states and this might create a problem for Savyasachi. All in all, the film unlikely to show much growth in the coming days.
