Malayalam
Megastar
Mammootty
is
currently
in
the
limelight
for
his
latest
Telugu
film
Yatra,
which
hit
the
screens
on
Friday
(February
8,
2019).
Directed
by
Mahi
V
Raghav,
the
film
is
based
on
the
life
of
former
Andhra
Pradesh
Chief
Minister
Yeduguri
Sandinti
Rajasekhara
Reddy
(YSR)
and
touches
upon
his
concern
for
the
farmers.
Yatra
arrived
in
theatres
with
a
decent
amount
of
buzz
and
collected
nearly
Rs
3
crore
on
Day
1.
It
held
well
over
the
weekend
and
on
the
First
Monday
(February
11,
2019).
Yatra
has
also
raked
in
a
decent
amount
today
(February
12,
2019).
Day
5
Collections
Yatra
had
collected
nearly
Rs
6
crore
at
the
AP
And
TS
box
office
in
4
days
and
emerged
as
the
top
choice
of
the
target
audience.
As
per
the
latest
trade
estimates,
it
collected
nearly
Rs
50
lakh
on
Day
5
and
remained
steady.
Its
5-day
total
is
likely
to
be
around
Rs
6.5
crore.
A
Decent
Showing
This
is
quite
a
decent
figure
considering
the
fact
that
Mammaootty
is
not
a
big
name
in
the
Telugu
film
industry
and
neither
is
Yatra
a
commercial
entertainer.
A
Safe
Venture
As
Yatra's
pre-release
business
was
petty
ordinary,
it
is
a
safe
venture
for
the
distributors.
The
drama
needs
to
collect
Rs
14
crore
share
worldwide
in
order
to
break
even.
Given
the
decent
Week
1
performance,
this
should
not
be
a
difficult
task
for
Yatra.
The
WOM
Is
Above-Average
'Mammukka'
has
received
impressive
reviews
for
his
moving
portrayal
of
the
late
mass
leader.
Several
critics
have
also
pointed
out
that
Yatra
features
several
gripping
scenes,
which
highlight
the
way
in
which
the
former
Andhra
Pradesh
Chief
Minister
tried
to
protect
the
interests
of
farmers
through
his
schemes.
As
such,
the
WOM
is
quite
positive
and
this
has
worked
in
its
favour.
The
Road
Ahead...
The
Karthi
starrer
Dev
is
slated
to
hit
the
screens
on
February
14,
2019.
Given
the
Kadaikutty
Singam
star's
popularity
in
the
Telugu
states,
the
romantic-drama
might
prove
to
be
a
cause
of
worry
for
Mammootty's
film.
