A Look At Highest Day 3 Collections Of Tier-2 Telugu Films, THIS Director's Assistants Top The List

The Tollywood Film Industry is in super form right now. Back-to-back successful films of medium-range, high-budgeted films, and experimental films like Dasara, RRR, and Virupaksha, it is undoubtedly a golden period for new-age filmmakers and actors.

The summer of 2023 was exciting after a thrilling box office fest for Sankranthi. Veterans megastar Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna have hit the screens and scored massive blockbusters in the form of Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya. The summer kick-started with Nani's Dasara and now going places with Virupaksha.

With Virupaksha earning solid reviews and raking the moolah, here's a look at the Day 3 Collections of Telugu movies of Tier Two range, from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Check them out below:

Dasara: Rs 6.73 Crore
Virupaksha: Rs 5.77 Crore

An interesting fact about the top three films and their collections is that these movies opened amid decent expectations. They earned more on their day three than opening day collections.

In addition, these films- Uppena, Dasara, and Virupaksha are helmed by debut directors, who come from the school of director Sukumar B.

Director Sukumar, who is currently busy with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, has floated a production company called 'Sukumar Writings,' under which he encourages his assistants to become directors. Many a time, Sukumar not only provides story and screenplay for films but also bankrolls the projects under the banner, giving his assistants a good shot. Needless to say, their work is there for everybody to witness.

Dasara which became the highest-grossing movie of Nani, his first pan-India film, is helmed by Srikanth Odela, whom Sukumar appreciated from the time he worked on Rangasthalam.

Buchi Babu Sana, the director of Uppena was working with Sukumar on several films including Mahesh Babu's 1 Nenokkadine and Jr NTR's Nannaku Prematho. He turned director with his story produced by Sukumar.

Coming to the latest sensation at the Telugu box office Virupaksha, the movie is a directorial debut of Karthik Dandu. Sukumar also wrote the screenplay for Virupaksha.
