Adipurush Controversy: Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan's much-awaited film has been making waves ever since the trailer was released. Movie buffs are eagerly waiting for the epic drama as it is one of the highly anticipated flicks of the year.

Adipurush, which is based on the Hindi epic Ramayana, has been embroiled in controversies since last year as the netizens expressed their displeasure over the teaser. While the makers worked harder to create an amazing product, a section of the audience was unhappy with the teaser and VFX. After re-working on the animation and CGI, the team unveiled the trailer at a grand launch event.

Unlike last year, they received a good response from all the corners. Before the premiere of the film, Kriti Sanon and director Om Raut visited Lord Venkateswara temple on June 7.

KRITI SANON-OM RAUT KISSING VIDEO STIRS ADIPURUSH CONTROVERSY

When the duo offered their prayers in the temple, little did they know that a video would stir controversy. After visiting Tirupati, Om Raut greeted Kriti and gave a peck on her cheeks while bidding adieu to her. The video went viral on the internet and it sparked a furore as a political leader lashed out at the duo.

CS Rangarajan, a popular priest, also called the act 'condemnable', raising objection to Om Raut kissing Kriti Sanon outside the premises of the temple in Tirupati.

WHO IS CS RANGARAJAN? WHAT HE SAID ABOUT KRITI & OM RAUT

CS Rangarajan is the head priest at Telangana's Chilkur Balaji Temple. He has over 29k followers on Twitter. His Twitter profile description reads as, "CS Rangarajan, Archaka of Chilkur Balaji Devasthanam, arguing for religious freedom & preserving traditional systems."

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, the head priest slammed Kriti Sanon and Om Raut after their clip went viral on social media. "This is a condemnable act. Even a husband and wife do not visit the temple together. You can go to a hotel room and do it. Your behavior is like insulting Ramayan, and Goddess Sita," he said.

Rangarajan Chilkur cited the example of Dipika Chiklia, who essayed the role of Sita in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, stating that people considered her Goddess after she played the lead in the hit show.

Adipurush co-starring Sunny Singh, Devdatta Nage, Vatsal Sheth, Sonal Chauhan will hit the silver screens on June 16, 2023. The Censor Board has given the film a U-certificate, making the flick available for everyone. Considering the buzz for the movie, trade experts expect it to rake in big moolah on the first day at the box office.
