Adipurush OTT Release Date & Time: Prabhas-Om Raut's Mythological Saga To Make Its Digital Debut On THIS Date!

With only two days away from the grand and blockbuster release of Adipurush, the epic mythological saga of Lord Rama, Sita, Hanuman, and Ravanasura, the country is abuzz with the excitement around the Om Raut-Prabhas' movie.

The advance bookings for Adipurush are already setting the records with as many as 5 lakh tickets being sold already.

The movie made on a whopping budget of about Rs 500 Crore, one of the highest in the country, will be released in five languages worldwide.

Adipurush Story

The movie is based on the story written by Valmiki in the epic Ramayana. About 7000 years ago, Ayodhya's prince Raghava and his brother Lakshmana embark on a mission to retrieve the abducted wife of Rama, Janaki. They fight several obstacles to face Lankesh, the demon king of Lanka.

Adipurush Cast

In the movie based on the Indian mythological epic Ramayana, Prabhas played the role of Raghava, and Kriti Sanon was seen in the character of Janaki. Saif Ali Khan played the Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, Devdatta Nage as Bajrang, and Vatsal Sheth as Indrajit. In addition, actresses Sonal Chauhan and Trupti Toradmal played important roles in the film.

Adipurush OTT Debut

The movie is made on a whopping budget of about Rs 600 Crore and is one of India's costliest films ever made. The movie once released on the silver screen will only make its way to the digital streaming platforms after five weeks. But for Adipurush, as per the sources, the OTT debut will happen only after 8 weeks of its theatrical release. The decision has been made to benefit the exhibitors who invested a fortune in Om Raut's directorial.

Going by this agreement, the movie might only be available for viewing on the OTT platforms after August this year. The date is yet-to-be-announced.

In addition, Rs 50 was increased on the ticket price in both Telugu-states, to recover the costs. This move is something that didn't go down well with a section of the film goers. They complained that for a film on Lord Rama, makers shouldn't have hiked the ticket prices.

Adipurush is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair under the T-Series Films and Retrophiles banner. The movie's cinematography was handled by Karthik Palani, and Editing was done by Apurva Motiwale Sahai and Ashish Mhatre together.

While Adipurush's background score was rendered by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara, the movie's tunes and songs are composed by Ajay-Atul and Sachet-Parampara.
