Adipurush: Prabhas' Epic Mythological Saga Hits OTT Without Prior Notice; Streaming In Four South Languages

Pan-India star Prabhas' recent periodic mythological saga based on the epic Ramayana by Valmiki, was made for celluloid by Om Raut, titled Adipurush. The movie hit the screens to severe backlash on June 16, 2023.

Actress Kriti Sanon played the role of Janaki in the movie while Saif Ali Khan played the role of the mighty Lankesh. The movie was one of the biggest films ever made in India so far and was bankrolled on a budget of Rs 600 Crore by Retrophiles and T-Series Films.

Adipurush Story

The epic is the story of Rama aka Raghav, who embarks on a defining journey from Ayodhya to Lanka, in a bid to rescue his kidnapped wife Sita aka Janaki. He has to defeat the mighty king of Lanka, Ravanasura aka Lankesh with the help of his disciple Hanuma aka Bajrang. The movie is based on the mythological depiction of the same by Valmiki in the Ramayana, a Hindu mythological scripture.

Adipurush Now Streaming On Amazon Prime Video

The movie, which came under severe criticism and trolling, hit the digital streaming platform Amazon Prime Video on August 11. The movie made its OTT debut without any prior announcement, owing to its box performance and response.

Prabhas' period drama can now be streamed on prime video in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, all four major south-Indian languages. However, there is no information about the online streaming of Adipurush's Hindi version so far.

Adipurush Cast

In the movie based on the Indian mythological epic Ramayana, Prabhas played the role of Raghava, and Kriti Sanon was seen in the character of Janaki. Saif Ali Khan played the Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, Devdatta Nage as Bajrang, and Vatsal Sheth as Indrajit. In addition, actresses Sonal Chauhan and Trupti Toradmal played important roles in the film.

Adipurush Crew

Adipurush is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair under the T-Series Films and Retrophiles banner. The movie's cinematography was handled by Karthik Palani, and Editing was done by Apurva Motiwale Sahai and Ashish Mhatre together.

While Adipurush's background score was rendered by Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara, the movie's tunes and songs are composed by Ajay-Atul and Sachet-Parampara.
