Adipurush To HanuMan & Custody, A Look At The Most Anticipated Telugu Movies Of Summer 2023!

The year 2022 was quite remarkable for the Telugu film industry. In fact, for the accomplishments TFI has earned, needless to say, the prestigious Oscar Award and Golden Globe Award award RRR's 'Naatu Naatu' won, the golden time for TFI is currently on.

In 2023, TFI produced many blockbuster successes within four months including Dasara, Veera Simha Reddy, Sir, Waltair Veeraiah, Virupaksha, and Balagam. Among these films, four of them have earned more than Rs 100 Crore at the box office. With an interesting line-up of Telugu films until the year's end, here's a look at the most-awaited Telugu films in the summer of 2023.

Adipurush on June 16

Pan-India star Prabhas' one of the much-awaited films is Adipurush. The mythological film directed by Om Raut has become a meme fest and laughing stock for its visual effects and CG when the makers first released the teaser. The tale of Ramayana was depicted without frills in this movie but somehow, although there is adequate hype around the movie, the publicity material continues to disappoint Prabhas' fans.

The film stars Prabhas as Raghava, Kriti Sanon as Janaki, Sai Ali Khan as Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Lakshmana, Devdatta Nage as Hanuman, Vatsal Sheth as Indrajit, Sonal Chauhan, and Trupti Toradmal among others in key roles.

Karthik Palani cranked the camera for this pan-India film made on a whopping budget of Rs 550 Crore.

Hanu Man on May 12

There are several expectations for director Prashanth Varma's HanuMan. The movie is touted to be a first-of-its-kind Telugu superhero film. It stars Teja Sajja as Hanumanthu, Amritha Aiyer as Meenakshi, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar as Anjamma, Vinay Rai as Michael, Vennela Kishore, Satya, Getup Srinu, and Raj Deepak Shetty in prominent roles.

Prashanth Varma and Tej Sajja are collaborating for the second time after 'Zombie Reddy,' the first Zombie film in Telugu. The movie is released across the world in about 13 languages.

Naga Chaitanya's upcoming action thriller titled Custody is written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. The movie stars Krithi Shetty as the female lead and has an ensemble cast. The movie is made bilingual.

Custody's cinematography and editing are handled by SR Kathir and Venkat Raajen respectively. Yuvan Shankar Raja and Ilaiyaraaja composed the film's entire soundtrack, marking their collaboration for a film for the first time.

In addition, Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan will be released in Telugu on June 2. The movie is bilingual in Hindi and Tamil, written and directed by Atlee Kumar. Nayanthara is playing the female lead character in the film. The movie will release in five languages.
